Bitchy Mood

What will be your first reaction when you come home to find your only parking space being taken by a stranger? Bad enough if your neighbour eats into your tiny little space all the time. But this Waja does not seem to be a regular around.

I can be quite a bitch especially when I come home, exhausted and can’t find a nice spot right in front of my house. Okies. Maybe the car is a visitor. But after much waiting, I grew impatient. I needed my beauty sleep. So, after some bell ringing searching for the owner and many negative answers, I decided to leave a note on the windshield of the Waja – informing the person never to occupy my little space again. Seriously, how else can you deal with such situation? I can totally understand if there is a function but if you are a visitor, can you at least park near the person you are visiting so it’s easier for the house owner to find you.

At the stroke of midnight, we heard the car ignition being switched on. Hmmm… looks like I was not the only one who was being unreasonable. My neighbour’s car parked so near the Waja (and of course mine on the other end) that he was literally trapped in between. Talk about difficulty in moving out your car. And because he was very apologetic about the whole thing, I did feel a bit of guilt leaving him the sarcasm note. Too late.

Most of us have issues with our neighbours snapping our parking space, sweeping leaves to our home or perhaps renovating the house at some god-forsaken hours. So we were told to live in harmony and deal with the situation in a civilized manner. But, how do you even start asking them without coming across as offensive? Cos I don’t wan to start making enemies here.

Oh wells…. maybe we can start saving rotten eggs now.

Gym Affair

Remember the time when your teacher scolds you for not paying attention in class? And when you thought you have passed the era where you will no longer be humiliated in that way ever again? Guess not.

People who know me came to accept that I talk a lot… Sometimes too much. So I was happily catching up Baby Bunny (who prefers to be known as that compared to CA) in gym class - talking about how right my theory about Puasa month - … Until…

“xxxx, Stop Talking” said CC in yesterday’s Combat.

Immediately, I turned to the front, ashamed and kept quiet like a 15-year-old who has just been caught playing truant. Taken aback? A bit. I should have just given him the ugly stare and continue talking. What worst could happen? Me sent out to detention? Or in this case out of class?? Hahaha…But then again, when you have so many people in the gym, you don’t want to attract that unwanted attention.

How can you stop someone from talking? It’s not fair. Anyway, Combat was great. Was sweating more than usual. That shows that I am putting my effort now. New release will be out next week and I am sure to find it more difficult to follow the steps. Damn!!

And as usual, Pump was next. This time, I had TT and Lady Di as class partners. AW could not make it again.

A quick summary: Lady Di is back in FF now yippeeeeeeeee……… after a whole drama of being a member with TF and not getting what you have been promised. Glad to have you back in FF with us anyway.

Something kiasu about me every Monday is to stand next to the bars so I can easily grab them after Combat. Anyway, I was really working on my biceps yesterday and I can feel the pain after the track. And have I mentioned that one of the instructor look a bit comical? He kind off remind me of a cartoon character. Maybe like a chipmunk. A cute chipmunk maybe. Maybe if they animate his face, he might be able to make big bucks. Hehe…

By the time the class ended, I was already exhausted. Caught up with Lady Di before heading home to have a pear and a good night sleep. zzzzzzzzzzzz

Weekend with Sex… and The City

Frankly, I was never an avid follower of Carrie Bradshaw and her 30-something friends. I watched certain episodes but I was gladly to miss it for a night out with friends. Yeah, I was not their target market that time. Still not… Maybe soon!!! So anyway, I was watching Season 1 of SATC on Sunday, thanks to my boss who has the entire collection. Did I mention that I was also researching on lives of women in their 30s? Actually, I love the show. I managed only 4 episodes but I am already hooked on to it.

Samantha said in SATC, “Married women find singles a threat. If you are still single, you are not to be trusted,” And not forgetting that you will also get the “Poor single you looks”

Are singles really a threat??
That I will find out when I am 30… and if I am still single. Hopefully I am not…

Mid-20s Crisis

You see… People at my age, or at least me, is facing what I call mid-20s crisis. Laugh all you want but its true. During my Saturday dinner with ML, KW and LSL, I realize how conscious I have become. I complained every single minute about my flabby arms, my so-called sagging skin and also potential high cholesterol when I look at the menu.

KW said, “Well, you have put on about 20% since high school.”

Porky Queen pouted.

KW said, “But, you got to understand that you were very thin back then. And I mean really thin. You were swimming in your pinafore literally. But I share your sentiments. But I will go for my body check-up in the next 5 years,”

Well yes, I am not the only one who are conscious since then. Many people I know have! And it just happens to be a way of life. Back in those days, we can only afford RM1 nasi lemak or mihun goreng. Now… we have the luxury to eat pasta with seafood with added cream sauce and to be pampered with a tiramisu dessert thereafter. So how not to put on weight and increases the risk of getting high cholesterol or diabetes???

And you think weight and health are only my concern? Demands go longer as we aged. So not forgetting our definitely must-have facials, mask and eye cream so that we keep our skin from dehydration. And you think that’s enough? What about gym, spas, massages, pedicures, manicures and hair dye to cover all the white strands resulting from stress and too much thinking? And what about clothes? With so many brands, styles, colours to choose from. Some may say that it’s a luxury to have all of the above. By choice we choose to paint our nails. By choice we choose to go for monthly exorbitant facials. By choice we choose to look good. By choice we choose to smell pleasant. But why not??? We deserved the pampering after a long hard day at work.

But seriously, another mid-20s crisis is to answer when asked why I’m not in a serious relationship. “You think I don’t want ar? No suitable one ma”. I agree that maybe it’s a good time to look for my other half right now. But then again, I’m reluctant to. I rather let things happen. When seeing my friends with their other halves, I can’t help but feel a pinch of jealousy in me. I yearn for the same treatment and love too but I also know I am not entirely ready. Some say I am picky. But how can you not be? The person is someone you are planning to walk the aisle and spend your rest of your life with. I can’t just simply pick someone off the street for the sake being in one. So picky I shall still be…

Something struck me over the weekend. I have plans and things that I want to do now. An opportunity... Perhaps!

Perhaps not!

Who knows???

A Queen got to do what she has to do.
Especially before she reaches her big THREE ZERO.

Pimped Emcee

Once again, I was pimped to be an emcee at no charge. Company had their annual Sports Meet with another sister company and I was given the task to what else… talk la…

Flashback…

MsL: Will you be coming for the Sports Meet?

Porky Queen: (Though I would rather go gym and burn all my fats) Yeah... must show support to the company ma.

MsL: Good. In that case, you shall be our emcee k.

Porky Queen: WHAT??? Why me? Ask DL or someone else la..

MsL: We feel you can ma…..

Porky Queen: Er.. okok… btw, do I get paid?

A moment of silence……

I guess not. Cheaper than cheap labour!!! (Though I did get a souvenir for my hard work)

So with pressure, I meant pleasure, I had to do what I do best. Talk all night with another fellow emcee. Maybe, I should consider being a part-time emcee. Then I can start charging people. Maybe… I may be the country’s top host one day.. Muahahahaha…

Too early for dreams right now but can u stop a girl for having aspiration?

Gym Bunny

After a wholesome birthday and eating so much leftovers over the weekend, gym is definitely a must on Monday. I must say! Monday's combat is getting more pack each week. Why am I not surprised! Hopefully the crowd will get lesser during Puasa month... which I doubt with everyone's fav combat instructor on the loose. Class was great though I know I hadn't put in much effort. Will do better next round. Anyway, CA finally showed me my "entertainment" for that week. CA is right! How can you not tie up your hair when you go to the gym? Especially if your hair runs all the way to your ass. Doesnt it irritate you when it fling all over? Well, it DOES ANNOY us. We will be sure to stay far away from you or provide you a rubber band next time.

AW couldnt make it to Pump and I was too reluctant to go home. So proceed to Pump alone after Combat in hopes to burn all the calories accummulated. Class was quite boring cos I dont know anyone whom I can talk to in class in between the tracks. And I hate having to keep quiet. :S Maybe I should make some new friends in class. Muahahahaaha.. But DC and partner were entertaining. It was not tat bad. I just hate lunges and squats and push up and ..... hmm.. i hate everything that causes pain. But for great legs and arms, I will endure...... and do without complain. :P

Drats...my next gym session wont happen until Saturday. What a long wait. Think I will have accummulated more calories again by then. Double Drats....

25 Already

So yes, I turned 25 last Saturday. Thank you Mom for throwing a house BBQ party for me. Muacks Muacks. I also had to thank the over 70 people who turned up to celebrate with me - Families, primary friends, secondary friends, college friends, Uni mates, colleagues, ex-colleagues dan lain lain…..

So with the help of my magnificent and detailed map, some got to my crib easily. Of course, the rate of people who got lost was quite high especially since they
1) Didn't print the map
2) Didn't follow instructions on the map
3) Prefer verbal explanation than reading maps

So half the time - as predicted - I was on the phone dictating to people how to get to my place. And that's not the end of it. One guest (ET) even had a security guard to escort her to my house. What drama. I actually thought the security guard was gonna give us some warning for making the neighbourhood smoky. Phew… False alarm.

Anyway, some pics from the event can be found at http://anniehor81.multiply.com/ (have probs uploading here le)

Not many pics of food cos the appointed photographer (ML) was busy eating than "working". Tsk Tsk Tsk but allow me to share what was served – fried rice, fried mihun, mixed vegetables, almond vege salad, fruit salad with cheese & olives, potato salad, chai kuey, almond jelly and not forgetting the meat area – lamb, chicken, sausages and beef.

In summary,

- Thanks to WL, EY and my happening uncle for taking charge of the BBQ area and sweating buckets at the pit . You guys are the best!

- Thanks to SY for making the lovely potato salad. Told u it will be a hit. It was snapped up as soon as it arrived.

- Thanks to JL and EY for the wonderful salad and preparing the lamb and beef . They were awesome!!

- Sorry to those who I did not spend enough time with! I know u will understand!!

- And of course thanks to all who gave me my pressies and angpows. Love them to bits!!

- Those who could not make it last minute, I still love you guys. Love you even more when you pass me my presents :D Like CL here…thanks for bringing me my present w/o the "s". Im still waiting patiently k for the rest…

And yes, I shall take some of your advice to have a bigger pit and cute waiter/waitress to serve food for future parties. And not forgetting hot chicks :P
The Queen's friends are definitely wiser and more demanding now.. just like the Queen herself but I had a great time :D thanks to all of you.

Birthday Journey

Sometimes when you look back at the years that have passed, you realize how fast we aged and the birthday celebrations that come with it. As I was looking back at my photo album, I realize how much birthday celebrations I had in my past 25 years.

My First Birthday.. I do look like a boy at that age

My Duh look.... 2 years old Getting cheeky with Smurfette when I was 4This year, I have Minnie Mouse cake (5) Starting to look vain when I turned 6 When I was in Standard One, I lost my front tooth. This year, I actually had 2 cakes.
I was camera-shy when I was 8 years old
So slowly, as time and years passed, I think I outgrew the parties and cakes. Until...

Prelude to the Queen's Bday

Hmmm.. Im beginning to love this company even more. And you will too if you work here.

HR: Since you are on leave tomorrow, here is your birthday angpow from the company

Porky Queen: Yipeeeee...(Though I was more excited when she told me of such tradition earlier this week when I submitted my leave form)

Yes, a tradition that they practised here whereby all confirmed staff gets RM100 on their birthday. Awwww... so nice.... I wonder what else?? I always tot they only give angpow to you when you get married. I guess not. Muahaha.. Im not complaining.

Anyway, do excuse me while I go prepare for my celebration for the weekend...

Punk'd

So as I was trying to remember where I parked AJ, I noticed one when I came down from the lift but when I saw the car wipers up, I was thinking "Nah.. thats not my car. And which idiot puts up the wipers in an indoor carpark in Curve?"

Hmmm...

Wait a minute...

That does look like AJ...

Yeah I spoke too soon. That is AJ... but why were the wipers up? My mind begins to scramble with unnecessary thots.

"Did I put the wipers up subconsciously?" But then again, I was so sure that I did not. Cos Im too smart to be doing things like that.

"Maybe it is some crazy stalker"... After all the email scares you read about carpark being unsafe you just have to be extra careful.. My eyes wander left and right and right and left just to be sure. No possible stalker to be found. Well, thank goodness someone parked in nearby. At least Im not all alone.

So quickly dropped my gym bag in the car and went up to meet CA and also AW who decided to join us to Ikea.

So as we were walking towards Ikano, AW asked "Like the wipers up???"

"Damn you AW. I should have known better. You freaked me out for a while."

So it was not me being blur or neither it was some stalker... thank goodness. I tot i lost my mind for a while there.

But then again I must admit it was a good laugh. Muahahahahaha...

P/S: And im still Porky Queen. Not Milo Queen. No matter whatever you silly boys have to say. I shall reiterate here. AW did not explain clearly on the coin trick. So it does not count. So punk'd on the wipers but not the coin trick. :P

Clumsy Queen Strikes Again

So I was doll up and all prepared for the Media Prima Screening last Friday only to find myself drenched, hair wet, makeup smeared and shoes soaked before I even reached the entrance. Thanks to the pouring rain and believe me, no umbrella can actually save you from the misery.

As my boss and I embrace the rain that has slightly stopped, I tripped on the stairs and fell on my ass. NOT AGAIN!!! This time, Im sure people saw. No bruises or cut. Just a wet pants. Sometimes I really do not know whether to laugh or feel sorry for myself. After the Merdeka incident, i never tot I will have to face any fall soon.

Irritated.. and annoyed... Who f**king put us at a carpark which is far away from the convention centre? Why cant they let us park at the stupid building and save us all the pain and rain? See, what cant people think????

Anyway, as for the event, we got to see the shows lined up for 2007 for all the 4 channels by MP. And who we got to rub shoulders with? Loads of people - celebrities, advertisers, media planners, etc etc etc....

The best part of the event was that the door gifts are not some outdated crap and are actually very useful. I didnt even touch the buffet line. Ended up with GB at Chillis cos we are just too occupied with catching up to even want to queue with others.

AJ Is Born

I know it has been 3 weeks since I got her. But I was busy chauffering people and forgotten the poor gal has yet to have a name. Anyway, cut the crap. She shall be called AJ, abbreviation for Apple Junior.

What happened to Apple? Mom took her back and I do miss driving Apple around. But AJ has to take priority now. She has reached her 1000km mark and that only means 2 things. I need to send her for service (when i find the time) and I no longer need to drive below 100km/h. :P

So What?

What is Independence Day to you? For me, its simply another public holiday to look forward to. Sad but true. Am not very patriotic. Worst! I cant really remember my country's history. That happens when you memorise too much facts instead of understanding them. Anyhow, I was considered very cultured this year. Like real!! Went to watch Broken Bridges, The Musical in KLPAC with CL, AW, CK and also our beloved driver, TS in his new Bestari on Merdeka eve. Thank goodness there was hardly any jam. So, was Broken Bridges any good? Well, i give it a 7/10. The first half was surrounded with humour and Da Queen loves funny antics. The songs were good. The cast were determined and strong. Douglas could have been better. The seats were ok though certain scenes are not visible to us. But overall, I think its nice of us to contribute to the growth of local art on a Merdeka eve.

Anyway, my Merdeka story does not end here. On a bright Merdeka morning, I went to the gym. Somehow, I was running late for my Pump class in Uptown. And having to rush to class like a mad cow, small misfortune had to happen. I tripped. And what you think? I fell le. Like a humpty dumpty. And hurt my left knee. But do I look like I was thinking of my leg? I dashed to class in agony cos I know I am already behind one track. And u cant imagine the pain I have to go through during push ups! Yes yes.. Clumsy Queen seems to be back again. Well, at least I think no one saw it. I hope.... And u think I will give up gym bcos of one one bruise? I continued with Body Step after Pump and even went for Combat the next day. Call me crazy but I feel something amiss if I dont do gym.

Now im suffering from my knee injury. So what? Im going for Combat and Pump tonight. So what??
