Senn's BBQ Birthday Party

This is quite a backdated entry. No thanks to the birthday boy only sending me the pictures today. Senn invited us over for a BBQ at his place and despite the pouring rain, we still managed to get our asses there.
So after pigging out on all the food, nothing will ever stop the gamblers from earning some pocket money for the upcoming CNY. And guess who was the God of Gambler that night?
Yup, time for some candle blowing and cake cutting. The cake almost caught fire k. No joke.
Happy belated birthday to you, Senn. You are officially 26 years old now.

Movies and Theatre

It's been a while since dimples and I went to the cinema. Last Saturday, we watched Berbagi Suami and Epic Movie back to back. No regrets definitely. Both movies were worth watching and provided great entertainment.

Berbagi Suami talks about polygamy issues faced by Indonesian women today. 3 different stories and how each of them are connected somehow. While the Indonesian accent was a bit strong, the subtitles helped and demonstrated a great but twisted lives of humans in this modern society.

Epic Movie was on the other hand a lighter film. Compressing various characters from various movies like Harry Porter, Nacho Libre, Click, Narnia, Pirates of the Carribean, Epic is really a good laugh and a good de-stress. Way silly but who says anything about watching only deep movies.

And on Sunday, watched Okiku: A Tragedy Retold at KLPAC with mom and sister. Reason Number One (and prob the only one) for watching: Cousin is the director so much show support le.. Good show but the venue is just too far le. And I dont like horror flicks.
Still.. the movies are cheaper but the performing arts offer you a more personal touch. Maybe I should just stick to DVDs...
yawnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn..................

Blogger Skills Needed

I really should be careful what I write next time. Refering to my previous entry, I think I over-exaggerated sometimes. From the comments I received, I think my friends misunderstood what I was trying to say. I dont blame them. I wrote the entry ma.

Nothing serious happen. In fact, nothing happen at all. It was the slightest problem. In fact, if da Queen dont get fed, thats an even BIGGER problem. Honestly, I think I should really scrutinise my entries and make sure it does not contain false reporting. Or inaccurate reporting.

I may get sued.

Then again, if i do, I get MNG aka Uncle Lim to solve that for me :P And that if he never again FFK Lady Di and I for dinner.

Not perfect after all...

The moment when I called him after gym felt like I have been in a relationship for ages. It's the feeling where couples start losing temper at each other. Shocked! Confused! And Sad! Why shouldn't I be? Especially when you have done nothing wrong and was just there to be a punching bag for someone's anger.

But I soon realise he must have a bad day. And John Gray once said, when someone is angry and not at their best, dont add to the flames. Just hug him and let the person you are there. I guess that works. Cos dimples was ok as soon as we left Curve.

So he is not perfect. And so am I. We have our flaws. Our dark sides. He complains. He sighs. Who doesn't? I will be worried if he keeps everything to himself. At least he shares not only his happiness but also anything that troubles him. I wouldnt say I like him being angry and shortfused. Im just not used to it. Im short tempered too. And im sure he puts up with my weaknesses as well.

So I guess that makes him special. Though not perfect.

Combat in Manulife

Lady Di and I made plans to go FF Consplant. But at 6pm, she msn me and said she prob cant make it in time for Combat. So she will have to ffk me. And I ffk Doug before that and told him I cant make it to FF Manulife. Muahahaha.. so i quickly msn the dude and told him my reverse plan.

It's been a while since I step foot into FF Manulife. But decided to attend CC's Combat yesterday and thankfully the class was not as packed as I tot it would be. I mean there were not a lot of people but just good enough to make the studio look like a pack of sardines. As usual, the class was good though I think I find it hard to adapt to the small area unlike Curve and Consplant studios. And rushing for 6.45pm class can be quite a nightmare. And I cant stand the sit-up track towards the end. Sound like a broken record and really gave me a bad headache.

Joined Karen for one track in BJam. But my poor strawberries was probably dying in the car. So had to go. Anyway, BJam is not my favourite. And surprise surprise Lady Di turned up in Manulife. But she was heading to RPM. Silly gal... hehehe...

I Need Another Weekend.. SOON

Weekend was a good time to recuperate. But was not too sure if I actually did. No gym though cos I had to use the time to colour my hair. More $$$ to the saloon. Fortunately for me, I think they forgot to charge me for the scalp treatment. :P So that means I paid lesser.

Had a wedding dinner in Federal Hotel in the evening. And baby dimples was so sweet to offer to send me there and back. You know how KL can be really unsafe these days. Especially for female drivers like me. Had to be there earlier as I need to coordinate with my co-emcee on the script. And poor baby dimples had to find some place to chill and kill time.

Sunday again no gym. It was Baby Bunny's birthday. My first time dining in Social Bangsar. The food: not too pricey and taste above average. Baby Bunny had carbonara pasta while Mr W only had caesar salad (thanks to eating too much in the spa). dimples love his lamb rogan josh while I had my al funghi pasta since my tummy was not feeling all good that day. I blame it on the Yee Mee Soup I had for breakfast. The company was great. Brenda, for the first time, was earlier than us. Maybe bcos Jessica was the one driving. Muahahaha... It was a great dinner with great company though we should have taken some pictures that night. Even the waiter tried to be funny (or smart) when we asked him for the pappadum. He had the guts to tell us that the pappadum is the yellow rice. Muahahahahaha..

The night had to end young cos all of need to work the next day. And, we all embraced the heavy rain to our cars.

Busy Month

It’s true. I’m so busy that I have no time to even blog.
I haven’t uploaded the Hanoi pictures on multiply.
I was busy being sick and have to visit the doctor twice to get a stupid MC.
I would probably get lost on the way to gym. But I think stress is helping me to lose weight. Unhealthy I know.
I haven’t see dimples since last Sunday. That’s how long I haven’t been to gym too. And I haven’t even try the new release for BStep and RPM.

These sucks.

Hopefully, next week will be better.

Last Day In Hanoi

The flight was not until 6pm. So ML and I had a early start to do more last minute shopping.
And Eating. We went to Cylco Bar and Restaurant.
The ambience was great though I cant say much about the food. The waitress was very friendly. ML and I got a free cocktail each but since ML is not at a legal age to drink, we had to return one. And before we bid farewell to Hanoi, we went to Quen's Cafe to tapau more vegetable spring rolls and salad prawn.

Additional Info
Where We Stayed - Ngoc Kiam on Chu Dong Street
Paying with Dongs are worth it than paying in USD. 16000 Dong = US1D = RM3.20
Time difference - Vietnam is one hour behind
Oh wells... heading home already... miss homeland so much already....

Day Four In Hanoi

Its the last day in Hanoi for my friends. ML and I are staying one more night. Thank goodness we extended cos we managed to catch the water puppet show. And our flights were not delayed. Cat had diarrohea. Poor gal. So ML and I went to explore the Old Quarters - shopping and eating non-stop. And we also found a delicious cafe near hotel that served vegetable spring rolls. Yummmmy....
And after the water puppet show which ML and I have no idea what they were saying, we headed for dinner by the lake. The pizza was ok but we could not finished it. A romantic place to dine and enjoy the scenery though the food was a bit pricey. But money cant come in the way when we are holidaying. And the Vietanemese Coffee was really bitter. Maybe it was me.

Day Three In Hanoi

It's the sightseeing day. No tour guide this time. We were being adventurous. So we hired 3 cyclos to bring us around. The smoke from the bikes, the crazy traffic and the spit were all part of the trip. Seating the cyclo was not as bad if you compared to the Thailand's Tuk Tuk. This former seems safer. So first stop was the Ho Chi Minh Maosuleum which was closing at 11.30am. And we were really late cos How and Cat overslept. :P
The guards are really strict there. No cameras and phones are allowed in there. But the scanner failed to detect them in my bag. Muahahaha... And I proceed to queue up without depositing my items in the area located. Unfortunately for me, my bags were checked at the entrance. I was out of the queue again. ML thot I was detained by the guards. Muahahaha... Y and I had to deposit our items at the located area. Queueing for the 2nd time, I realised again I had another phone in my bag. SHUCKS... i just prayed they dont checked my bad this time. BUT they did. Fortunately, they didnt see the phone. Haha.. stupid.... And all the effort and queueing to see HCM's body.
Next stop, we visited Quan Tanh Temple and One Pillar Pagoda.
And we headed to lunch at the roadside again. Trust me... the food at the roadside are really yummy. Pick the one opposite Temple of Literature. The first corner shop from the main road.
With a full tummy, we went to Temple of Literature.
Last stop was Hanoi Prison but we reached too late. They were close.

And dinner at another restaurant called Align Cafe on New Year's Eve. I was having a terrible headache. 2 Paracetamol immediately solved my problem. And another place where demand exceeds supply. Everything also "FINISH FINISH". We had to settle for second best.
A tour to find the Apolaypse Club for the New Year countdown was not fruitful. So off to Bao Ganh (something like Bangsar) and found Funky Monkey but the music was too loud for some of us. So decided to find Minh Jazz Club. After much attempts and wrong turnings, we found the place 15 minutes before midnight.. which is also their closing time. ON A NEW YEAR EVE. Finally we ended up in The BALCONY. It was empty and the place reminds me of a spaceship as it is "wrapped" up in aluminium foil all over. Muahahahaha.... And when New Year came (Malaysia time), dimples called to wish me. Was missing him badly. I did had a great time spending New Year in another country and with my friends and sister but I secretly wish dimples was there too. Oh wells... cant have everything I guess.

Day Two in Hanoi

I hate waking up early.

Especially not when Im in my holiday mood.

But then again it will be so wrong to sleep throughout the trip. So woke up early for breakfast and then a day tour to Halong Bay. A 3-hour bus ride and another 2 hours boat ride. With the tour guide teaching us some local language, this was getting really exciting.
And after such a long ride back, the 6 tofus aka us all went for massage. ML and I decided to go for only foot massage while the rest took the body and foot package. It was hilarious when Lady Di said the Vietnamese did not provide them a top to change.

After that, dinner it was. Went to Highway 4 which was disappointing. The taxi ride there was a con-job. As much as we thought we were getting our money worth by asking him to drive around, we realised we were being cheated instead. Food was ok. Service was so-so. But what pissed us of was that the waiters love the word "FINISH FINISH". Kitchen was close and it was partially our fault for having such late dinner. But then again, we tried the famous locusts. Gives you a terrible after taste... yucks..
And poor Lady Di has nothing much to select from and had to settle for some pastry on the way home. The walk was pretty scary but somehow I guess the people there are not as notorious. It was quite a peaceful walk though half the time I was thinking if anyone will rob us. The walk ended after 1/2 hour after we realise we were walking on the opposite direction to the hotel. hahahahaha... and a cab we took back instead.

End of Day 2.

Day One in Hanoi

It was a holiday for ML since she should be rewarded for working so hard for her SPM. And after much persuasion that Air Asia is safe to travel on, ML agreed to Hanoi (and right after I told her its a french colonial place). So off to Hanoi we went with Lady Di, Y, How and Cat. When we reached Hanoi airport, realised my baggage's handle was broken. What a way to start the trip. Reported the incident then we headed to the hotel and only to be told that we need to be moved to another "sister hotel" as the former is fully booked. @#%&x# Hungry and tired. Thank goodness for some buns Mom packed for us. Soon enough, we are all checked in and ready for some adventure. Our first roadside meal in Hanoi - in one of the weekend markets. Just like a pasar malam. Weather was cold. ML was freezing and I missed dimples. And that was Day One.
